Three patients of Tri-County Spinal Care Center were diagnosed with acute hepatitis B after receiving injections in February
A North Charleston spinal medicine clinic has been ordered to halt all invasive procedures including injections by SCDHEC while it investigates how three patients at the facility contracted acute hepatitis B. All three patients received injections on Feb. 7 and 21 at Tri-County Spinal Care Center, according to a DHEC press release. DHEC began notifying a total of 23 patients who received injections at the clinic on those dates on Monday, May 20, and issued a Public Health Order compelling the clinic to suspend invasive procedures and cooperate with the investigation. The potentially at-risk patients are being asked to go to Northwoods Health Clinic to have their blood tested for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV. The Public Health Order …

Boeing's 787 Dreamliners began flying again Monday
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is flying once again. The first 787 to fly in months made a short flight from Houston to Chicago Monday, CNN reports. The planes had been grounded by the FAA since January when lithium ion batteries on a couple of Japanese planes caught fire. Boeing also found problems with fuel leaks in other planes. The Dreamliner had been cleared for a crew only flight back in February to test battery and fuel line fixes, but Monday is the first time passengers have been allowed back on the planes.

Biggest month-to-month drop in 25 years.
The unemployment rate in South Carolina fell from 8.4 percent in March to 8.0 in April, according to the latest report from the Department of Employment and Workforce. The month-to-month decrease is the largest since May of 1987 and the overall unemployment rate is now the lowest it's been since October 2008. Since April 2012 more than 26,000 jobs have been added to South Carolina's economy. All 46 counties added jobs in the last month and three counties--Charleston, Greenville and Lexington--now have unemployment rates below 6 percent. Four counties saw their rates drop a full point since March--Marion, Horry, Barnwell and York.
